We will keep it simple for the first post in this section and swap out the nasty, stock metal sleeves for a set of delrin polymer door hinge sleeves. The hardest part of the install will be removing and reinstalling your doors, unless your sleeves are already rusting! These were ordered and delivered by Atlas OffRoad www.atlasoffroad.com (excellent price and customer service), a set for a JKU will run just over $60 for all 4 doors. We will skip the removal and reinstallation of your doors, I'm sure everyone already knows how to do this! Just be careful where you place your doors when they come off! Once your doors are off and you have access to the empty hinges, I found a 11/32 socket fits perfectly against the stock sleeves to press them out. You will need this socket and a hammer to gently tap out the old sleeves. If you have an older jeep that has worn or rusted sleeves, you may need to persuade them a little bit. Typically once you get them out enough to grab onto, they will pull out with a little muscle behind them. If you run into an issue, a crescent wrench tightened down underneath the lip and a few taps from your trusty hammer will take care of them. Once out, the new polymer sleeves will slide into the hinges with relative ease. Again, a tap or two from a hammer will take care of it!From here, it's as simple as reinstalling your doors and reconnecting your plug and tether! Now you can enjoy pain free door removal for the life of your Jeep and no rusty hinges!! Install Time: 45 minutes Install Difficulty: Easy
